BIG CHANGES IN THE FILM INDUSTRY

 Online Distribution Wars:

The Internet has changed our world.  Nearly every aspect of our society has been affected by it and has had to adapt. Apple, Distrify, Dynamo Players and many others are all vying for the crown of online distribution. Then more and more people tend to choose this unpaid way to watch movies, which reduce the profit of film industry drastically.

Money shortages:

The inappropriate funding policy. In most time, these policies tend to favor of  'commercially successful' films with famous stars or actors. In other words, films that donnot really need help. This means that many independent producers are going to lose any financial advantage they might have had.

Death of DVD:

DVD? How long you did not buy a dvd in the market. Obverviously the DVD gold rush is over and the role of the DVD is changing.

In my opinion, people will continue go to cinemas watching films, as they not just pay for sitting there and watching, but also pay for enjoy the high quality sound, the suitable surroundings, the good services and the delicious popcorn etc. On the other hand, as the threat of Internet movie distribution, people are increasingly noticed that it will be a cheaper and more convenience way to watch films. To protect the film industry, the government should introduce laws to ban some illegal online distribution of movies. Also, cinemas should improve their environment as well as the services to maintain consumers watching films with them.
